Illustration

I specialised in illustration during those early years of art college, some 10 years prior to the computer revolution.

Cell by Cell

One of my first jobs was as an animator making cell by cell commercials for Television South West (TSW - now Westcountry TV).

Book Illustration

Specialising in line work with an attention to detail, I illustrated six books for a local publisher. Later, I illustrated packaging for food companies and confectionery.

On the busses

Some of my illustrations were produced on a much larger scale. In 1996, one of my illustrations was reproduced on a bus which later won numerous prizes for innovation. The bus painted to look like a train engine was paraded at every train enthusiasts exhibition in the westcountry.

The bus was kept in commission long after the client had ceased their contract to advertise on it.

This design set a precedence in bus painting. The concept of painting a bus to look like another object has long since been copied.

Airbrush

I spent some time as an airbrush artist painting cars and motorcycles. During 1997 - 1993 I won prizes all over England for paint work. One of my paint submissions came 2nd in a public vote at the Kent Custom Bike Show, known for its international competition and high standards in custom machines.

3D Illustration

Nowadays, I enjoy working in 3D and the same attention to detail can be seen in the environments I build.

Painting with oils

I also paint on canvas and am interested in the interpretation of tattoo, anime and sci-fi to classic oil paintings.
