Digitising Aura

Digitising Aura explains the mapping and cataloguing of places as they have changed over the last 100 or so years. Using morph packages and retaking photographs in the footprints of photographers in the 1800s.

The presentation goes on to make plausible, the use of a digital video enhanced VR binoculars to view the now extinct Plymouth Pier.

The presentation was a firm proposal to Plymouth City Council for the installation of AuraScopes (celebrations 2000).

Little Red Ridinghood

Little Red Ridinghood has two common denominators; one is that she gets to the cottage where her grandmother lives, and the other is that the wolf goes to eat her.

Whatever happens in between these events are variables. So, split 20 stories up by their common denominators and you have 6000 different stories of Little Red Ridinghood.

Horsey Bridle

This was created as a fun to learn interface for children. The child takes a key to the tack box, opens it and proceeds to dress the horse. Prizes come as rosettes and there's a cup if you complete all the tasks.

I might not have included this in the portfolio as it is quite an early piece of work. However, it does show a transition period... I used my old illustration techniques in a new media presentation.

Cookooland

Cookooland was my final year project. I built a 3D environment entirely out of Bryce. Then I strung it together in Director. Each environment has calming qualities with surround sound, a sort of place to go when you are really stressed.

In Guinness Ad style, the environment allows the user to travel through different dimensions to get back to the same place, so It's a traveling narrative where the user gets a sense of depth when there really isn't any.
