Usability and IA

One day seminar

Training a selection of your staff brings necessary usability skills into your organisation, ensuring that best practices are integrated into your design process. Staff in your design team can share responsibility and can help each other identify potential problems before they develop.

This is often more effective than appointing one person to oversee usability for a project. In-house knowledge also reduces the development time, building usability into the project from the start reduces the requirement for revisions.

Topics Covered

· The benefits of usability and information architecture fundamentals

· Card Sorting and Task Analysis

· Personas and User Profiles

· Usability Heuristics

· Usability methodology during a project life-cycle

· Usability principles of web or interface design (customised to your web site)

· Usability evaluation and testing methods

The seminar would give practical examples, and group projects in a workshop atmosphere.
